Frank Marshall: Indiana Jones 5 is Unlikely

Producer Frank Marshall says it’s unlikely that there will be an Indiana Jones 5. Amidst rumors of a potential fifth installment in the Indiana Jones series following 2008′s Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Marshall says there are no plans for the archaeologist (Harrison Ford) to have a “last hurrah.”

“I say, for me, [Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is] the last hurrah,” says Marshall. “I know that yes, we talk about it, but there’s no idea, there’s no MacGuffin.”

Last December, George Lucas revealed that he had “told Steven [Spielberg] about the story,” but that he hadn’t found a plot yet. Since then, Lucas has announced his retirement from filmmaking.

Many fans either loved or hated Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, polarizing the opinions of whether to continue the franchise or not. What do you think? Does Indiana Jones have a final run left in him?

I have mixed feelings about this. I would love to see new ones, possibly with a new actor (like sequal’s, but not). But I don’t want to dilute the already AWESOMENESS of the original 3 (Crystal Skull was alright, but felt like a money grab).
