Skyrim – Hearthfire DLC Announced

Bethesda Softworks announced this morning that their immensely popular RPG The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim will be receiving its second piece of DLC come September 4. Named Hearthfire, the update will allow you to purchase land throughout various parts of Skyrim, while also allowing you to build and customize your own home. In addition to this, Hearthfire will also make item storage more optimized for your home, while also giving you the ability to show off your rare finds as trophies.
A new adoption system has also been added as well, allowing you to bring children into your home and increase the size of your family. You will be able to interact with them throughout your house with various games and activities, and can even hire a steward to help with raising them and taking care of the household.
Currently, this update will only be available for the Xbox 360 version of the game on September 4th, but it will most likely make its way to the PC shortly thereafter. The same can’t quite be said for the PS3 version of the game, which is notoriously buggy and behind on released updates.
