Firestone’s XVI Anniversary Blending Has Begun

Firestone has begun the blending of their XVI (16th) Anniversary Ale. As you may or may not know, each and every year a group of Firestone Walker brewers and tasters sit down to decide which of their strong barrel aged beers should be blended together to make the anniversary ales. Some years the beers consist of almost all barleywines while other years they consist of almost all stouts. Even though the beers used aren’t always consistent, what is consistent is how damn good each release always is. For an in depth look into our experience with their XIV (14th) and XV (15th) anniversary releases, check out our beer guy’s birthday podcast!

In the mean time, to hold you over the next couple of months until the beer’s release, check out photos from the blending session. In them we can see Matt Brynildson and company selecting only the best beers for our extremely picky palates, or their own… who really knows?

And if you want to go to the brewery’s special release party for the anniversary ale on November 3rd, check out their website for all of the information you need. We’ll be there. Will you?
